Vol 18: March Highlight: Mazikeen

Hello all! Thanks for coming back to Femme Thee Comics! This week I wanted to show my appreciation and highlight an unsung anti-hero that is my absolute fav! She is a demon from hell who severs as Lucifer's right hand (and bestie), head torturer now turned bounty hunter and LAPD Civilian Consultant, Mazikeen aka Maze. She's also a baddie who kicks ass for all the right reasons, and she deserves some shine! So lets get into is, shall we.........

Mazikeen, as I mentioned, is a demon. She has been around for more than a millennia. She is a character created by DC Comics and has appeared in many of their comics, but this time around I am going to focus on her character/portrayal of her from the Netflix show, Lucifer. In the show Maze has this story arch that really showcases the dept of her that she was not aware of. She followed Lucifer from hell to live in Los Angles and had spent five years living up a ravish and exciting lifestyle to say the least, but as time goes on and as she realizes that this is her new home, we follow her on this story of empowering and independence. For so long she was just known and served as Lucifer's go to demon, but she no longer ties her self down to only one thing. She is the anti-hero we didn't know we needed.

Maze goes on a path to find her true self, something she never knew was even possible. Her path is one of a lot of ups, with positive strides and then with some downs due to manipulation and betrayal, but still a path that is worth taking. She finds her chosen family and will protect them at all cost, but she will also fight them as well when they are at odds, and that is one thing cause sometimes its hard to see when she self destructs but I still love her. She is one who is figuring out a lot of things while going through a lot of life changing things she wasn't ever suppose to deal with, so I get it. All this to say is that she is not not to mess with at all. Actress Lesley-Ann Brandt does an AMAZING job portraying this character on Lucifer, like I cant see no one else doing it like her, period!

So go ahead and check out my fav Maze for the one time on Lucifer, she is really the best, we stan her over here okay. Well that is all for this week! Come back next week for some more Femme Thee Comics, bye! I'm in the middle of re-watching Lucifer for the billionth time.......
