Vol 17: Thee Monica Rambeau is HERE

Annnnnnndddd we are back this week to talk about a power player in a respected comic universe, as we always do of course! This week I want to talk about a character that has been highly anticipated in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), especially since Captain Marvel in 2019. Who is this illustrate character, well it is no one other than Captain MONICA RAMBEAU, aka Spectrum and aka Photon (we'll get into that.)

Monica was first introduced in the MCU as a young kid in Captain Marvel which was set in the 90s, but she has made her newest appearance in the universe as a grown women in the newly finished series WandaVision (btw a review of the show will be on my YouTube channel next week, which I will also link below.) Not to go into grave details about what happens in WandaVision (trying to avoid spoilers) but we see her after the events of Avengers Endgame, she lost so much and was trying to get back in the game called life. She heads back into work as an Agent of S.W.O.R.D and takes on the case on the new reality, known as the hex, that the Scarlet Witch, Wanda, created. However, she gets sucked into that reality and is stuck there for a min. She ended up getting kicked out by Wanda for knowing too much at the wrong time, but she still feels for her because of all she has gone through. Monica is relentless and went through the Scarlet Witch hex multiple time, cause her DNA to rewrite itself and gave her some extraordinary powers.

So far we see that Monica can absorb energy, has spectral vision, and intangibility, but that's only the tip of what she can do as she hasn't even have time to acknowledge her new found powers. As was saw during the finale of the show, we saw where next Monica is heading to (somewhere in space with some other key players *winks*) and she has so much more to get into and I am super excited to see!One thing I am looking forward to seeing is the name she will be going by in the universe. In the comics she goes through numerous name changes, from Captain Marvel (paying homage), to Spectrum, then to Photon (paying homage as well to her mother Maria who was also nicknamed Photon). I, personally hope she goes with Spectrum, but I have a gut feeling she'll be going by Photon. Either way she is here and I am HERE FOR IT!
