Maria Rambeau Returns in Dr. Strange 2

A new trailer for Marvel's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness dropped last Sunday during the Superbowl. The trailers gave a quick but deep look of what to expect from the film hitting theaters this May, however many theories have arrived and fans are speculating on what this film will uncover and who will make an appearance. The film is taking on horror, mystery, adventure, and action all at the same time as Dr. Steven Strange,played by Benedict Cumberbatch, and the Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen, take on the Multiverse. The events stem from Dr. Strange involvement in Spider-Man No Way Home and have cause Strange some serious consequences to deal with.

We know the confirmed characters that we will be seeing, with the introduction of Ms. America herself America Chavez, being played by MCU newcomer Xochitl Gomez and possible the first look at the notorious group, The Illuminati, but we also can come to believe the return of past characters, such as Professor X from the X-Men, which will be the first introduction of the X-Men in the MCU, but also Maria Rambeau from Captain Marvel. As the picture above shows someone, who many to believe to be is Maria, attacking Scarlet Witch. If this is indeed Maria Rambeau, she is another universe's Captain Marvel instead of the current one who is Carol Danvers. In the primary universe in the MCU, Maria died from cancer during the five year blip caused by Thanos in Infinity War. In the comics, Maria did carry the title as the superhero which inspired her daughter to carry on the legacy before going through a series of other name changes.

Having Maria come back would definitely be a great surprise and would mean that many others, especially those who have passed (like TONY STARK), to come back as different variants of themselves.
